There are ongoing maintenance works on the 91.52-km-long Ebolowa – Ambam – Kye Ossi road, which is part of National Road No. 2. Since the beginning of October 2024, Groupe Fixit, the company in charge, has been patching potholes on the Ebolowa – Meyo section.
With a completion rate of 71.57% as at 8 October 2024 against 52.92% of time used, maintenance works on the 91.52-km-long Ebolowa – Ambam – Kye Ossi road are making good progress. The project is divided into two phases, works on the first of which are ongoing and mainly concern patching potholes with crushed graded aggregates and bituminous concrete. Since the commencement of these works, there has been an improvement in traffic flow on this major road, which is part of the road network connectivity with the Gabon border.
By and large, the aim of the project is to improve the level of service on the Ebolowa – Ambam – Kye Ossi route through several operations as follows: the scarification and reshaping of the carriageway and shoulders, patching of potholes, repairs to the base course, sand impregnation, laying of double surface dressing and drawing of continuous and discontinuous central lines, among others. This phase 1 of the works is being financed to the tune of 413,500,000 CFAF, excluding taxes, by the Road Fund-PIB, while the technical control is being carried out by the INTEGC SARL technical consulting firm at the cost of 52,440,188 CFAF.
